Men: Dressing Up Takes Only a Few Extra Minutes
My boyfriend isn’t the type to dress up. Ever. But for my birthday, we went out to a nice restaurant, and I asked him to dress up and look nice for me. He said he didn’t have anything nice to wear. I knew that was a lie, because he deejays for weddings and such and I know he doesn’t show up for that in jeans and a t-shirt.
The next day, I headed out with a boyfriend who was wearing nice, clean khakis and a gray t-shirt under a blue button-up shirt. Simple, right? But he/we received more compliments than I imagined possible. He responded to each with a, “Don’t get used to it.”
But I learned something from this experience. It doesn’t take a lot to look nice for something, be it a special occassion, a job interview or a request of some kind.
- Wear something you already have
- Wear clean clothes
- Dark jeans or khakis (dark are in-style right now, but light khakis work too) are fine for dress-up pants
- A button-up shirt goes a long way
- Don’t think of it as dressing up, but as looking extra nice.
Oh, and girls, if you have a man who knows how to match his clothing and likes to look nice for you, be grateful.
- Daily care for your dog takes only minutes each day and will help keep her in the best health.
